The inhabitants are known for their warm hospitality and vibrant cultural traditions and friendliness. Fishing, coconut cultivation and coir processing are significant aspects of their livelihoods, contributing to the unique island lifestyle.

Lakshadweep has some wonderful traditions of dance and music and Kolkali , Parichakali are few of them. Parichakali is a popular form of dance performed in most of the Islands, performed by men using wooden swords and shields. This dance form is usually enacting the Islamic tales of mighty battles fought in the days of yore.

The local cuisine is mainly seafood. Relish the fresh catch of the day, including tuna, lobster, and squid. Try the local staple, 'Kattan Chaya' (black tea), and coconut-based dishes
